To help launch your career, several automotive aftermarket associations established the University of the Aftermarket Foundation (UofAF) program in 1996. The program is funded from the net proceeds of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation (UofAF).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Selected candidates receive a $1,000 (Canadian) scholarship.<\/strong>\u00a0While all students are encouraged to apply, priority in awarding scholarships will be given to those pursuing a career in the automotive aftermarket (also know as the auto care industry). As a bonus, a matching grant is awarded to scholarship recipients who become technicians in the automotive aftermarket.\u00a0<strong>You may claim your matching grant up to one year after graduation.<\/strong>\u00a0<em>Please note: Students must be enrolled full-time for the year of the scholarship. For instance, if you apply this year, you must be enrolled for the academic year starting September of this year up to April of the following year.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Matching grant $1,000<\/h2>\n<p>Past recipients are eligible for a matching grant as long as they provide proof that they have been employed in the automotive aftermarket for at least six (6) months.<\/p>\n<p>To apply for matching grant: The recipient must provide a letter from their employer confirming their employment status, job title and length of employment.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Policies<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must be enrolled in a college-level program, university or an accredited automotive program. Students must be enrolled full-time for the year of the scholarship.\u00a0 You must be enrolled for September of the year you are applying until April of the following year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Priority will be given to those pursuing a career in the automotive aftermarket industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Participants must be attending a full-time program in Canada. Graduate programs and undergraduate part-time programs do not qualify.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--\n \t\n\n<li>Employees of University of the Aftermarket Foundation \u00a0associations and their family members are not eligible.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Previous University of the Aftermarket Foundation Scholarship recipients are not eligible.<\/li>\n\n\n--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Submission requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It is imperative that all applications are properly completed as incomplete applications will not be processed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scholarship application along with your essay (at least 250 words in length, no longer than one page, double-spaced), indicating why you believe you deserve to be chosen to receive a scholarship.<\/li>\n<li>If you are still attending high school or have graduated but not yet entered your post-secondary program, you must submit a high school transcript.<\/li>\n<li>If you are attending a post-secondary program, a copy of your current official school transcript.<\/li>\n<li>Letter of recommendation (from a non-family member, preferably an employer, teacher or someone other than a family friend).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application period:<\/strong>\u00a0 January 1 to March 31 of each year<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This year\u2019s application period has closed.
